Born as an Augustinian Convent, today the building shows religious paintings of important artists.

Cenni di Francesco di Ser Cenni's or Ugolino di Nerio's works, holy  vestements as well as sculptures are displayed in this little but precious musem. The wooden crucifix, made towards the end of the thirteenth century, is very suggestive. The exhibition halls are dedicated to painting (from the late 13th century on), sculptures, sacred vestments and furnishings. Inside there are works of Cenno di Francesco di Ser Cenni, Segna di Bonaventura and Ugolino di Nerio. A piece of major merit is the striking wooden Crucifix from the second half of the 13th century, a ‘triumphans’ Christ - or Christ alive triumphing over death – original specimen for Italian medieval sculpture.
